The barrel vaulted cellar buildings of Eikendal vineyards form a distinctive landmark on the R44 route. The 76 ha farm has been under ownership of the Swiss company Substantia AG from 1981. The moistening effect of the near-by-sea combined with excellent soil structure form ideal conditions for growing noble vines such as the Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
