The Dornier family has been producing grapes in Stellenbosch since 1995. They have created much awareness with their 2003 cellar building with the curved roof. The barrel vaulted cellar buildings of Eikendal vineyards form a distinctive landmark on the R44 route. The 76 ha farm has been under ownership of the Swiss company Substantia AG from 1981. The moistening effect of the near-by-sea combined with excellent soil structure form ideal conditions for growing noble vines such as the Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, Landskroon has a proud tradition going back to the 17th century. In 1874, the De Villiers family, who are of French Huguenot extraction, acquired the farm and it is still managed as a private operation by the family to this day.
